Paul is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. He enjoyed a career as Analyst of Replacement Cost Construction of Residential Property for State Farm Insurance.

In 1988, Paul relocated to the Outer Banks and began a career in Real Estate. His designations include; Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR),  Graduate of the Realtors Institute (GRI), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Recreation Resort Specialist  (RRS),  Resort & Second Home Marketing Specialist (RSPS),  Certified Residential Broker (CRB),  and Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist  (CHMS).
