Hatteras Island is the place to be when a Tropical Storm visits the Outer Banks!
Outer Banks locals and visitors hit the beach and waters around the “S Curves” in Rodanthe, NC, on the northern part of Hatteras Island, for a great surf session on Saturday August 29th. As Tropical storm Danny passed about 80 miles southeast of Cape Hatteras, NC, the storm brought with it some incredible waves.  A U.S. Coast Guard spokesman said the waves in the area were about 4 to 6 feet tall. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Nights of Rodanthe house “Serendipity” & the Carolina blue sky, the waves that Danny sent were not a big as we expected but DID make for a great day of surfing.
